To: catstories@gorbeh.com Subject:I have a beautiful white Persian named Baby I have a beautiful white Persian named Baby. He has one blue eye and one amber colored eye. Baby came to live with us when he was 9 months old. I had had to put my beloved Shih-Tzu dog to sleep and was having problems dealing with the loss. My husband was not at all convinced that a cat could take the place of a dog. Baby has not taken the place of my best friend but he has made his own special place in our hearts. Baby does not meow-he eeee's. It always sounds like he is saying "ME!". For his 1st birthday I brought home a little male Ragdoll kitten. Baby took his birthday gift under his wing and took care of him. He would groom little T.J. for hours and shared his food with him. They have had many hours of romping all over the house. They especially love to play in the bathtub. Baby has been a true joy to the house and a very special friend to my husband. I now have 5 cats (Miss Priss, Jake, Susie, Baby and T.J.) and the sweetest of all is who we always refer to as "the baby". Back to the Top ... Submit your own Persian Cat Story!! I had always told myself I would never buy a long haired because I was just too lazy to brush. My husband and I went to the breeder looking for a Siamese. We found two beautiful Siamese kittens. Now our problem was to decide which one to take home...but as we made our decision a lovely bi-colored Persian was loudly meowing to catch our attention. He moewed until we finally carried him, he purred all the way home and has purred every day while I joyfully brush... Looks like our sweet orange and white Persian chose us instead of us choosing him! Back to the Top ... Submit your own Persian Cat Story!! I have always been a cat lover & decided to atleast look at her...she was 13 weeks old, just a tiny peach colored puff. But when I held her & she looked at me with those, (will you care for me eyes ) I knew I had just found my baby after all. She the best animal I have ever owned, and as much work as a new born baby. She is always by my side, sleeps next to me on her own pillow & she is the princess of our house...is why I have named her "Lil P" thanx for letting me share my love for the flat lil faced fluff balls that have sweetened my life. I was just reading all the Persian stories on this web site and I just couldn't resist telling you about my newest and dearest love-of-a-lifetime!....excluding my husband, of course!.... It's a 9 month old silver shaded Persian-Himalayan male, and he's the sweetest cat I've ever had! As I've never had a persian before, you won't like me for telling you this, I was prejudiced towards Persians. I'd always thought Persians were the greatest snobs! And I was terrified of making a mistake by buying one, but my husband reassured me, and boys am I glad he did! But, I must now admit that they are the greatest cats around! My little Gizmo, yeah, I know, not very original in the name department, but if you'd see him, you'd see that's just what he looks like! Gizmo's a very sociable cat, who loves to be around people, even when we're twenty in the house, he always wants see what I'm doing, along with sharing my pillow at night and waking me up in the morning! All this to say: never judge a cat by it's nose!!! A confirmed Persian Lover, Shannon P. Back to the Top ... Submit your own Persian Cat Story!! He is packed with personality. His favorite thing to do is to run around the house and growl like mad. He sounds so scary. He loves to play hide and seek and absolutely loves to scare you to death by jumping out from behind a corner at you. Whenever I walk away from him he chases me and bats at my ankles with his paws. When it comes to his litterbox, he is extremely fastidious. He must supervise the entire operation whenever I clean it. He is a great cat. But I think the best thing about him is that he is a great judge of character--i.e. he has never liked my ex-boyfriend! Back to the Top ... Submit your own Persian Cat Story!! Any suggestions???? Right now I have to separate them in 2 different rooms. Plus Princess was refusing to use the litterbox because the other 2 would run after her and chase her out. Please help... The day we bought Chaucer he slept all day, and we thought we had such a docile cat- how wrong could we be! When Chaucer wants to be he is an absolute tiger, and insists on nibbling your fingers, or worse- your neck! He even rips the head off teddy bears and then carries the head around in his mouth. Chaucer constantly craves attention, he has several different miaows that depict his mood- or more accurately his needs. If you have not being tending to his needs in a manner he thinks is fit he ignores you and prowls the house with his nose in the air. He is a real baby and always finds you before he goes to sleep so he can curl up on your knee. He loves to find little places to fall asleep in just before you are going out: behind the grandfather clock, window ledges, underneath cupboards and underneath the rabbit's hutch. Only yesterday he got himself trapped in the cannisters between two 'under the bed' drawers. Chaucer is a beautiful bi-colour persian and we do not know what we would do without him. Chaucer is my first cat, but I think I will be a cat keeper all my life. Laura Back to the Top ... Submit your own Persian Cat Story!! Three years ago my little Opal left us for kitty heaven. Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life, I had to put my little FeFe (my best friend) to kitty heaven to be with her sister. I feel like a part of me died. Yesterday morning knowing that FeFe was not eating or drinking after a few days, I also noticed that she was very distant as if she did not know where she was. FeFe looked at me with this look that said "help me MaMa" I knew that I could not let her suffer and if I loved her that much, I would let her go. FeFe is now in kitty heaven with her sister and I just ordered her head stone... my little friend will never be gone, she will always be in my heart. If anyone knows of a blue smoke persian with gold eyes that is a kitten, please email me. Thanks for listening and all you kitty lovers, hug your babies for me. Back to the Top ... I got him through a breeder who was not located in my town. He had to be shipped to me. He is 13 weeks old now. The second I saw Grub at the airport I fell in love with him. He is the sweetest Kitten I have ever met. He follows me all around the house and will not let me out of his sight. Once, while I was in the bath with my eyes closed...I heard a splash, Grub had jumped in the bath with me!!! The bond that has formed between us in such a short period of time is amazing. A couple of weeks ago he fell very ill, his stomach swelled to 14 inches in just a few days. He had fluid in his stomach. After alot of tests and many tears we found out, just last night...that he has a fatal liver condition. One where the blood and nutrients do not reach the liver. There is no hope for him. He will die within the next 72 hours. Our only hope is that he dies without pain, because at this moment he isnt in any. I dont want to put him to sleep, but I will have to if he suffers at all. Nobody can possible understand how sweet this kitty is and how much I love him. I have been numb since I heard the news from my vet....I dont know what I will do without my little angel. Please pray that he dies without pain...this little guy is a blessing and an angel in disguise. Thank you Melissa Back to the Top ... Submit your own Persian Cat Story!! To: catstories@gorbeh.com Subject: I've had three different Persians I've had three different Persians. My first one was when I was seven years old. She was a tabby color and we called her Muffin. The breeder said Muffin was ours for free as long as we let her breed her. We agreed. Muffin was bred, but sadly, she lost all of her kittens because they were premature. We later gave Muffin back to the breeder because of her urinating all over the house. We'd opnly had her about 7 months. The kind breeder gave us another cat. This one was a beautiful calico who was about 8 months old. We only had her a week when my mother decided that she was urinating on her bed. (It turned out the waterbed had a leak!) The breeder gave us yet another cat. An adorable little black kitten who I affectionatley called the hippo because of how fat he was. We got him as soon as he was old enough to leave his mother, around Halloween 1992. We named him Spook. I loved Spooky with all my heart. When we moved from Utah to Montana, Spook came with us. But, he was like the other two, urinating all over. My mother was always threatening to give him away. Finally, she did. Four days before my thirteenth birthday, Spook went to the animal shelter. He was almost 6 years old. I now realize that I never took enough pictures of him. I am still trying to talk my parents into letting me get another Persian. They are the best animals! I love your web page. -Brianna Back to the Top ... Submit your own Persian Cat Story!! To: catstories@gorbeh.com Subject: Kinkaid My name is Cheryl Davis and I have a story to tell about the most loving persian ever, Kinkaid. When I first saw him I thought he was beautiful with his black and gray fur coat. Although he was beautiful, he had a brother just like him and tons more playful. But to my dismay the brother was already claimed. So I decided to take him. He was great on the way home and did not budge from my lap in the car. As soon as he stepped foot in his new house I think he was in paradise. He was playful, vocal, and everything I could have ever wanted. As it became hotter (we live in South Carolina) I also began to get more fleas than I ever wanted. I had every intention of taking him back to the vet to get some Advantage flea stuff, but my roommate beat me to it. Except she bought the Hartz brand at the grocerey store. Well things were going great that night and we went to bed. When I woke up the next morning, I noticed Kinkaid (I usually call him Kinky) was a little sluggish, but I brushed it off assumming he was tired. Well later that day, I came home for lunch, which is unusual, and my little black fur ball was shaking and trembling as he slowly walked to me. His big golden eyes were watering so badly both of his cheeks were soaked. I immediately took him to the vet and had him examined. It turns out he was poisened from the flea stuff. When he went into the examining room he started to have a seizure. I was crying and so upset to see my 10 week old baby struggling for his life. He had to go to a special vet in the evening to care for him. He spent four agonizing days away from me. My vet had initially warned me that he might not make it and all I could think about was losing him. On the fourth day I was allowed to take him home. He was still a little out of it and very weak, but he got better as ever minute passed by. In the first five minutes of him being home he wabled to the litter box and used the bathroom. This was remarkable and you might not think so, but if you could have seen this little guy struggling you would aggree. Several weeks went by and my little Kinky was back to runing between my legs and acting like his normal self again. My vet was a lifesaver and I feel like I can never repay her. Kinky is the strongest and most loving cat I have ever known. He wakes me with kisses and soft pats on the head. He sits on the bathroom counter and waits for me to get out of the shower. He talks to me and lets me know when it's time to eat. He chases my toes when I am falling alseep. But what I love most about Kinky is his deep soothing purr, everyday it seems as though he is thanking me for coming home early on that devastating day. My god parents cat was the mother so I got to see the newly born kittens. I fell in love with her at first site but she was already promised to thier mother. However,it turned out that their mother coudn't take care of her so they offered her to us. We gladly took her, and now years later she's as sweat as ever. Back to the Top ...
